MLA stands for Modern Language Association. MLA is a scholarly association with the aim to promote the teaching of language and literature.
The basics of formatting a paper in MLA Style include the following:
- 12pt font
- Time New Roman (or another legible font)
- double-spaced
- header with last name and page numbers
- Heading in the top left corner of the first page
- Your name
- Instructor’s name
- Course name
- Date
- centered title (same font size, no underlining, no bold printing)
- NO extra space between paragraphs
